1. Indian Press Glorifies New York IRM
The following article was printed on the front page of the Calcutta
edition of one of the leading national English Language Newspapers
in India - The Hindustan Times. The story speaks for itself
and just demonstrates how in less than a year since its formation,
the ISKCON Revival Movement (IRM) has made waves around the globe.
Its work has provided a positive alternative to the "dis-integration"
which the GBC Chairman himself has described is currently going on
in ISKCON.
ISKCON Tree of Religion in Big Apple

Times haven't been exactly smooth for the Hare Krishna cult
these past few years, the Iskcon boat being rocked off and
on by controversies ranging from child abuse, rape, suicide
and bitter factional fights in India and other parts of the
world. But here's good news at last.
Like the Tree at Bodh Gaya in Bihar, under which the Buddha
is said have got his Nirvana, the Hare Krishna movement has
finally got its Tree of Religion. But this Tree, under which
Indian guru Srila Prabhupada founded the movement 34 years
ago, is in the Yankeeland of New York.
In August, the New York City administration took what Iskcon
devotees worldwide have hailed as a historic decision. It
gave the Tree the status of a historic monument. The good
news has been spread across the world in the September
newsletter of the Iskcon Revival Movement, the faction
challenging the cult's officialdom.
"The elm tree at the southern end of Tompkins Square
Park", said a letter from Henry J Stern, New York City's
Commissioner for Parks and Recreation, "has indeed played
witness to an event of great importance. Its historical
significance for the Hindu-based Hare Krishna religion is
recognized around the globe. With this in mind, a new
historical sign telling the story of the park's trees and
horticulture for Tomkins Square Park is currently being
written; it will include an account of the Prabhupada
connection with the park."
The letter was addressed to Vani Devi Dasi Oshuns, an
American devotee of the Hare Krishna cult, who had been
carrying on a solitary campaign to get the recognition for
the Tree from the New York City administration.
According to the IRM newsletter, she had been sweeping the
cobble stone bricks around the elm tree in the center of
park for over three years.
As she did that, she also kept petitioning Harry Greenberg,
keeper of the park, for raising a memorial around the tree.
About a year ago, Greenberg sent her to his boss Margaret
Asarro, who asked Vani Dasi to take up her case with
commissioner Stern.
But Vani Dasi's unique action of sweeping the cobblestone
bricks around the tree had attracted the attention of the
people visiting the park.
Earlier this year, her story was featured in the popular
magazine, New York Time out. Commissioner Stern's approval
came soon after. The IRM has worked out a draft for the
plaque to be erected at the base of the tree. It reads:
"Among this grove of elms is a
special elm. Under this very elm tree a spiritual revolution
started, and spread throughout six continents. Here, in
1966, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila
Prabhupada, founder and current guru (spiritual master) of
the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)
introduced the western world to the sublime chanting of the
Holy Name of Krishna..." |
2. Jayapataka Swami's
(JPS) Passport Copy Sent To IRM
The JPS
'fugitive' saga has witnessed some explosive developments in
this last week. Since the release of our newsletters, a whole
whirlwind has been unleashed throughout ISKCON, as devotees of all
philosophical persuasions and camps have now combined to bring this
fugitive to justice, and those leading the charge are his own
disciples closest to him, who have now become totally disillusioned
with JPS's lying and cheating:
a) Blow No. 1
A devotee who is one of the closest to JPS sent us color copies of
his current passport and US Green Card. One can only imagine how
close the source in question must have been to have had access to
these documents. These documents are now available for viewing on
the IRM website and they can be reached by clicking on this link

The receipt of these documents is a major breakthrough in the hunt
for JPS and they have already been forwarded onto the appropriate
authorities.

b) Blow 2
After our report in the last newsletter that JPS would be arriving
in London at 5 AM in the morning on Wednesday 4th October, JPS has
been playing an amazing game of hide and seek. This week he had been
at the Atlanta Temple. However his programs and plans kept changing,
as he tried to throw everyone off the scent. One minute he was due
to leave at a certain time. Then suddenly he is not leaving. Then he
is supposed to have left for the airport, but he has 'missed'
the flight he was supposed to have caught.
Then when he does arrive in London, a hush hush operation is put
into place to not let it be known that he is passing through. His
disciples were given strict instructions to not inform anyone that
he is arriving. He also refuses to come out of the airport to meet
with his disciples, even though he had the time to do so and they
had made all the arrangements to do so. Finally his 'no-show'
has one disciple in tears, and he is forced to console her by
speaking to her for half an hour on the phone. Then he flies onto
Moscow, with the plan is that he is due to come back to London next
week.
None of this is the behaviour of someone who is on a 'normal'
preaching tour. It is clear that our revelations are forcing JPS to
become increasingly hemmed in, as he becomes more and more paranoid.
This is understandable since as it can be seen from the revelations
in the IRM newsletter, that the leaks coming from his camp indicate
it contains more holes than Swiss Cheese, and that he cannot
actually trust anyone. As soon as he makes any travel plans, we know
of it in seconds.
c) Blow 3
Our revelations last week that he has actually been lying to
everyone when he stated that he was not on the run and that he was
actually just doing his 'normal preaching tour', has thrown
his disciples into disarray. Thus a Goloka Chandra Das, who we
assume is one of his disciples, posts a story on CHAKRA that:

"He is not on the run. As a sannyasi, he is
travelling and preaching as he has always been doing all
these years on the direct order of his spiritual master, His
Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada."

Later however
we have another one of his disciples, a Sumithra Krishna Das from
Madras, admitting on com that he WAS lying, but that it is
OK since even the Pandavas lied and cheated!!!:

"Even the Pandavas had to lie and cheat on
the Kurukshetra war because their enemies were so adharmic.
What to do! So is that a blow to anyone that the Pandavas
did all that?"

So that's ok
then. The supposedly Bona Fide spiritual master can 'lie and
cheat' because the Pandavas did it!
It is very clear that JPS's attempts to evade justice are not at all
proceeding smoothly, while his increasingly demoralised disciples
can only look on in bewilderment! Please keep the reports of his
travel plans and sightings coming in. We need to be ready and
waiting for him if he ever attempts to sneak back into India. Please
never forget what we are dealing with here. An innocent devotee is
dead.

3. Newsletters Now Available in Spanish
A Spanish speaking disciple of JPS has become so disillusioned with
the activities of JPS that she has began the service of translating
the newsletters into Spanish to reach out to her Spanish speaking
Godbrothers and Godsisters who may not have heard of the latest
escapades of their 'Guru Maharaja'. The first one available
is
newsletter no. 33 where we first broke the news of the
conspiracy from the JPS camp that cooked up a false rape case. She
is also working on the translation of subsequent newsletters as we
speak. These newsletters are available on our website, or one can
contact us here at the newsletter and we will be happy to send them
on. In the past we have had many Spanish speaking devotees writing
to us in Spanish, saying there was no use sending them the
newsletter as they could not understand them. Hopefully this problem
is now rectified. Please pass this message on to the Spanish
speaking devotees. Thank you.
4. Gurukula Court Case Update
We stated in our newsletter No 30.
"Gurukula Lawsuit Special - The Facts" - that the Gurukula
lawsuit completely depended on the utterly outrageous and horrible
claim that Srila Prabhupada was the 'Godfather' of a criminal
child-molesting cult. This was because the whole case was based
around invoking the civil 'RICO' statutes, and on alleging that
Srila Prabhupada actually founded a criminal 'racketeering'
organisation.
Consequently the GBC have now filed a motion to dismiss the Gurukula
lawsuit based on Turley's misuse of the RICO statutes. This
aggressive motion to have the whole case dismissed also puts paid to
the rumours that the GBC would 'settle'. The case on behalf
of the GBC was filed jointly by a Texas law firm that has experience
in Civil RICO claims and Gupta Das (Fedorowsky). That's correct,
this is the same Gupta Das who took the BBT to the cleaners in the
Hamsaduta case. It now seems that he and the GBC are happy to work
with each other. The Texan attorneys are R. Brent Cooper and Susan
B. Heygood (both members of the Texas Bar). There are many reasons
given by the motion to dismiss as to why the Civil RICO statutes
cannot be used in this case, but by far the most powerful argument
is based upon the elements of a civil RICO claim which must be
present, as established by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (which
oversees the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas):
To state a civil RICO claim under section 1962 a plaintiff must
allege:
(1) the conduct
(2) of an enterprise
(3) through a pattern
(4) of racketeering activity.
As a preliminary matter, however, a plaintiff must establish that he
has standing to sue. The standing provision of civil RICO provides
that '[a]ny person injured in his business or property by reason of
a violation of section 1962 of this chapter may sue therefore...'.
Thus, RICO plaintiff must satisfy two elements - injury and
causation.
In simple terms this means that in order for the Plaintiff to even
have the ABILITY to sue, regardless of the merits of the
case, they need to at least establish that their 'business or
property' was injured by the 'racket', and further also
that the 'racket' DIRECTLY caused the injury.
Both elements must be satisified. According to the complaint filed
by Turley, there are NO allegations made that property or
business was damaged - these were only personal injury claims.
Further it is ADMITTED that individual abusers, not the "racket", were the direct causes of the plaintiffs injuries.
Turley will now be invited to file his response, and the Judge is
expected to hand down his judgement in about 2-3 months. If he
agrees with the motion to dismiss, the case will be over and done
with. If he does not grant it then we can expect that the GBC will
appeal the decision.
Thus it could be years before the case even gets to trial
(if it
gets to trial at all), and then there will be many more years of
appeals if the GBC lose the actual trial. Please remember that it is
usually cheaper to keep appealing and prolonging the case rather
than making an immediate multi-million dollar settlement, and this
is exactly what the GBC did in the Robin George case, where it was
*** 19 ***
years before Robin George received a single cent.
Independent lawyers who have seen the motion to dismiss, and who
know the Judge's track record, feel that the motion to dismiss
stands a good chance of being granted. However we will have to
simply wait and see if indeed that is the case. Thus there is a
chance that the abused children could be denied their much needed
justice because of a trial 'strategy' that portrays Srila
Prabhupada as the founder and nourisher of a Criminal Child
Molesting Cult.
This is yet another reason why such a horrible legal strategy should
never have been made in the first place.

5. Bhakti Caru’s Anger At Lack Of Worship
The GBC Gurus have been continually trying to portray the illusion
that they are always endeavouring to put "Srila Prabhupada in the
center", and that they themselves are simply nothing but assistants
in this most noble task. Bhakti Caru Swami more than anyone
specialises in this technique.
He will go out of his way to try and show how he is always concerned
that Srila Prabhupada be in the center rather than himself. This
charade is used no doubt to deflect attention from the real picture,
which is that they have replaced Srila Prabhupada, stolen his
disciples, and are busy enjoying the result of this disobedient
activity. But do not take our word for it.
Please read the following accounts of the 'pastimes' of Bhakti Caru
Swami, including the recent 'Vyasa-Puja' celebrations of Bhakti Caru
Swami, and please decide for yourself just who it is that is really
in the 'center' here:

"The next morning, at 6:30, Guru Maharaja
went to Mayapur by car, accompanied by another vehicle.
[...] Then the kirtan kept going and Guru Maharaja
circumnambulated the main deities three times, sometimes
dancing lightly with his hands held in the air. Finally, he
went upstairs to his quarters, again accompanied by a huge
trail of devotees all running up the stairs one after
another. When Guru Maharaja came in and sat down on his
Vyasasana (the regular one that always stays in the front
darsan room), a Guru Puja was started. As the many devotees
sang and danced, Guru Maharaja distributed 3 types of
cookies to the small children first and then to the rest of
the devotees, as they came to him and offered a flower at
his lotus feet. At the end of the Guru Puja, Guru Maharaja
gave the following talk. [...] On Vyasa Puja day, Guru
Maharaja was in the temple for Mangala aroti.
[...] After that, Guru Maharaja went to Srila Prabhupada's
Vyasasana to be the one to offer the more than 60
preparations that had been offered for the occasion,
including an enormously long cake (it took 8 devotees to
carry it). [...] Then, there was supposed to be readings of
Vyasa Puja offerings to Guru Maharaja in the GBC conference
room at 4:30. At 5:15 Guru Maharaja went up there, sat down
on the same Vysasana as the previous night, but he noticed
that there were hardly anyone there! Indeed, only about 30
devotees were sitting there. Guru Maharaja got a little
upset with Ganga Narayana das, the organizer of the event.
He grimaced, got up and left. As he walked away, he said, "I
didn't even want to do this!
There is practically no one here, so what is the use?" [...]
After some time, Guru Maharaja came out of his room and sat
on the Vyasasana, his anger completely gone. Then, for 3
hours, so many devotees stood up and read their offerings to
Guru Maharaja. At the end, Guru Maharaja said a few words
again in glorification of Srila Prabhupada and of the need
in our society to put all emphasis on him."

Please Note:
-
He receives regular Guru-Pujas as he sits on his
Vyasasana, with flowers offered to his 'lotus feet', and
he hands out cookies to Children.

He has a lavish Vyasa-puja celebration with 60
preps and a cake so huge it needs 8 devotees to carry it.
-
He is overcome with 'anger', 'grimaces'
and walks out in a huff because there were 'only' 30
disciples waiting to read Vyasa-Puja offerings to him.
-
As soon as there are enough disciples gathered to
glorify him, so that the offerings last for a full 3 hours, he
is happy to sit on his Vyasasana and listen. He had claimed that
he did not even want to listen to these offerings, yet he gets
angry when something he claims he does even want to do does
NOT happen but appears fine when it does happen!

Then after having spent 100% of his time ensuring
that the emphasis was
100% on only him, he has the cheek to pontificate to everyone
else that the society needs to 'put all the emphasis' on Srila
Prabhupada!!! This has to be the height of hypocrisy.
The charade
detailed above epitomises perfectly his technique of receiving
massive adulation and glorification for hours on end, and then
simply SAYING that actually we should all emphasise Srila
Prabhupada. This technique serves two purposes:

It distracts everyone's attention from the
massive 'Srila Prabhupada imitation' that has just gone on.
-
It makes Bhakti Caru Swami less guilty for having
just engaged in an orgy of self-glorification.
It seems that
Bhakti Caru's absorption in meditating on the pastimes of Srila
Prabhupada in order to make his film of Srila Prabhupada's life, has
simply resulted in him actually trying to ACT OUT these pastimes
himself!
Further, to judge the result of having substituted Srila Prabhupada
from the center with himself, one only needs to read a snippet of
the 'Vyasa-Puja' offerings which were made to him this year:

"Due to Your direct mercy we are progressing
in our Krishna Conscious lives and we cannot understand how
much we have lost out in our lives.
We thank You for picking us up from the gutters and
accepting us as Your children; we pray that we live up to
Your expectations. [...] Please give us Your spiritual
guidance, we need it to make our lives successful and have
an opportunity to go back home, back to Godhead."
"Dear Father, You have so very mercifully lifted us up from
the gutters of material nescience and given us the wonderful
opportunity to establish our lost relationship with the
Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna" |
Isn't it
actually Srila Prabhupada who is doing this? Is Bhakti Caru Swami
really keeping Srila Prabhupada in the center when he has trained
his disciples to ascribe to him the characteristics which are really
actually only applicable to Srila Prabhupada? And is it really
keeping Srila Prabhupada in the center when as he have just seen
above he tries to imitate the position of Srila Prabhupada?
Please re-read all the above and judge for yourselves.
One final note is that even some of Bhakti Caru Swami's disciples
themselves knew that his 'Vyasa-Puja' celebrations were an
embarrassment for someone who claims that he is concerned with
'keeping Srila Prabhupada in the center'. That is why they put out
the story that this was not really a 'Vyasa-Puja' celebration but
just a 'normal Birthday party'.
Besides the fact that the activities clearly prove it was a standard
Vyasa-Puja celebration, all we can say is - that was some birthday
party for a supposedly 'humble' sannyasi!
So the next time you hear Bhakti Caru or anyone else pontificate
about how they are keeping 'Srila Prabhupada in the center', please
remember:
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
And we can see
very clearly that the actions do not match the hypocritical weasel
words.
